21 Days on the Road: Photo Overload

We recently went on a 21 day vacation spending 3 days in the Charleston, SC area (Folly Beach to be exact), 3 days in Savannah, GA and 10 days in Disney World.

Now, if you are like me, when you are on vacation you always have your camera at the ready and then come home with so many photos you just don’t know where to begin.  That is where I found myself when I finally booted up the computer and transferred my photos.  With 21 days of being gone with my family in tow, it gave me a lot of opportunities to be out taking pictures. I think the count was somewhere around 4500+ images that now need to be gone through.

I decided to start scrapping them in the same way that they were taken- City by City.  I will post my favorite layouts as I do them, but here are a couple from Folly Beach, SC.

Design- Is It Important?

You bet it is! It can make or break your pages. I found a great YouTube Video talking about design principles for scrapbooking. I think this is an important concept to understand as it will help you create visually pleasing pages.

Enjoy!

Some Scrappy Link Love

I was recently out in the blogosphere and found some really great sites that I have now added to my RSS Feeds.  I wanted to share those sites with you today and maybe you too will find some great sites to add to your daily/weekly reads.

I stopped by Scraps of Mind (http://www.scrapsofmind.com) and read a great article about reusing my old paper layouts to create sketches for new layouts!  Not only will this work for your paper scrapping, but also for inspiration for digi layouts too!  To read the full article, click here

Next up on my search for quality scrapping blogs I found DigiFree (http://digifree.blogspot.com).  They offer links to some great FREE digital products!  Now I am a sucker for free stuff, and since I am just starting out with Digi Scrappin’ I love finding kits, templates and individual items I can use to try out.  You can find DigiFree here.

Last of my noteworthy sites this week is Scrapscene.  They bost the “Who’s Who” in scrapbooking and I did find they had some really inspiring  tutorials!  You can get your scrap on here.

I am a self professed “Pretty Paper Addict” with a permanent membership in a 12×12 Step program.   Yet, it has been a long while since I have done any type of scrapping, let alone updated this site.  Well, no more.  I am blowing the dust off my supplies and getting geared up to get my creative flow going again.

Join me as I begin the journey back into the scrapping world and learn the art of Digital  and Hybrid Scrapbooking.

I will be adding many things to GetStamping.com in the coming months and I hope you will join me for the journey.  Look for challenges, weekly sketches, contests and more!

Join the fun, make new friends and maybe even learn a thing or two yourself along the way.
