Welcome to GetStamping.com!  I am glad you have stumbled upon my blog and I would like to say hello and I am pleased to meet you.

A little about me:

My name is Laurie and I am a work at home mom (WAHM), Independent Consultant for Close To My Heart, a wife and a mother to 2 beautiful daughters.  I also have been a self professed “Pretty Paper Addict” for almost 8 years now and am still following a 12×12 step program!

I started out a casual scrapper, ok I take that back… I was roped into scrapbooking by my mother’s brilliant idea to create a scrapbook of childhood pictures of me as a Christmas gift for my husband.  When we sat down to create that first album, it was a disaster.  We did not have the right tools, didn’t know what we needed to use and certainly didn’t have the foggiest idea of how to scrapbook in the first place.

Me being the crafty person I was felt this would be no more difficult than any other craft I had self taught, so we set out for a trip to the scrapbooking supply store.  I walked in that door and thought I had walked into the twilight zone!  There were racks upon racks of paper, shelves of doodads and thing-a-majiggies, and things I could only barely comprehend as to what they would have to do with scrapbooking.

We very carefully selected and album, several sheets of papers, stickers and some of the thing-a-majiggies and set off for home to start our project.  We set out all of our treasures on the table and stared at them with a slight dismay as I realized I was clueless as to what I was supposed to do…

Do you know it took us a staggering 6 hours to complete 2 pages of that album?  My husband received it with a sticky note that said “To be continued…. Someday” stuck to the third page.  After that fiasco of a project, I decided to sit down and verse myself in the art of scrapbooking, and have been on a journey of techniques and tribulations ever since.

I started this blog in an effort to share my art with others, make friends in the community and maybe help a newbie scrapper here and there along the way.
